Coffee Works Lānaʻi

Description by Leihiwa Siliga

I like Coffee Works.  I think it has the best coffee in the whole world.  My favorite coffee is the Thai Ice, I get it every time I go there.  I remember picking flowers, they smelled so good.  After that I wanted to go to Coffee Works everyday.

Coffee Works has not been in business very long.  It was once a house that belonged to the Preza family.  It was built in 1922.  It was remodeled and now serves coffee and snacks.

Interview with Jonathan Preza by Leihiwa Siliga

I interviewed Jonathan Preza.  He told me information about his house before it was Coffee Works.  Jonathan lived there from 1958 to 1980.  There were seven kids in the house.  He lived in a commercial area, so if somebody wanted to build a store there they could.  He told me that his house was a block from everything.  So when he heard the school bell ring he knew it was time to walk to school.  Jonathan lived there for the summer to drive the pineapple truck.  That is all the information I got from Jonathan Preza.

I love to go to Coffee Works.  I like to drink the cantaloupe juice.  I can smell coffee everywhere.  They have yummy food.  They have bagels and cream cheese.  I see the juice in the juice stand.  There is also chips, Reese’s chocolate and Twix bars.  Coffee Works is a great restaurant.
